Jacob Hunter has been providing service on computers since 1990, in his school's computer lab. First involved with Mac OS he began his work with hardware and Microsoft Windows.

In 2000 Jacob founded SMAUG a Linux User Group in Santa Cruz, California. SMAUG was founded out of interest by Jacob in using 'free' operating systems for everything from desktop to high-end servers. "There isn't any reason to pay for an inferior or even equal system, when a free alternative is available,..." Jacob was quoted as saying in 2000.

Though an advocate of Linux he uses both Mac OS and Linux on his personal machines.

Jacob worked in the tech industry but suffered in late 2000, during the "dot com crash" which forced him to diversify his experiences. Thus he worked in the restoration industry, and started EAS in 2005 which has flourished since.

Jacob has programmed in Visual Basic since 1995, PERL since 2000, and Python since 200. He recently began programming in C++, JavaScript and applying Ajax.

After nearly two decades of helping friends out with their computer troubles and working in the computer industry Noxy was started by Jacob.
